What has God placed near us that—while it seems ordinary—is positioned there for extraordinary purposes?

Here’s what I know about our God: He always resources our needs.

Psalm 36 (especially verses 5-12) is a beautiful Psalm of David. I’d encourage you to go and read the entire chapter. In the Psalm, David contrasts the wickedness of people around him to the greatness of God. In verse 7, David talks about the perfect love of God and then says, “People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.”

There’s power in us realizing that Jesus loves us. In fact, I would have to say that ultimately our power to live and walk through life comes from the fact that Jesus loves us. It’s as simple as that. His love makes us able to withstand the conflict, hurt, pain, and disappointment that comes our way.

My ministry. My love for people. My church. They are all so much better when I get these priorities correct. When I follow Jesus first, my fishing is so much more successful. When I put my relationship with Jesus consistently in front of my ministry life, my ministry is stronger.
