In John 18:36, Jesus is standing before Pilate. Pilate is expecting Jesus to make a plea to be freed. Instead, Jesus simply says, “I’m not focused on this world.” In other words, Jesus wasn’t worried about the immediate when He knew what the eternal promised. He knew His fate as He stood before Pilate.

Live in the Shadow

Psalm 36 (especially verses 5-12) is a beautiful Psalm of David. I’d encourage you to go and read the entire chapter. In the Psalm, David contrasts the wickedness of people around him to the greatness of God. In verse 7, David talks about the perfect love of God and then says, “People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.”
