How Do You Carry Freedom?

Today, we celebrate….

The greatest thing in our Country’s history.

Our freedom as individuals and as a nation.

The people that made it possible…
The people that are still making it possible.

We cook on our grills, shoot fireworks (at least here in the south), and find the nearest swimming pool,
but it’s really all about freedom.

Christians have freedom.

The greatest kind.

We enjoy it, carry it, and have a chance to share it.

Are we carrying freedom proudly?

How do we do at carrying the most freeing message in human history?

How do you carry freedom?

Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”

  1. It is very hard for me to think of our nation’s independence and the sacrifice made by SO many without also thinking of our personal freedom and the sacrifice made by One. Happy 4th of July to you!

  2. I try to watch something each 4th that reminds me of the sacrifice so many have made for our nation to remain free and thus great. The opening scene from Saving Private Ryan is unbelievably hard to watch – the sacrifice, the fright, the raw awesomeness of war.

Makes me wonder – as a Christian, do I get as emotional about the freedom Jesus purchased for us with His death and resurrection?

  3. I carry freedom the same was I carry all the other things I have but didn’t earn, with grace and gratitude; these things were also given to me. But no, I am not proud to be an American, I am very humbled to be born in America.

  4. I would say that I carry it carefully, or maybe cautiously. I know how easy it is to fall back into the slavery of sin, and so I try to guard my heart and the freedom that Christ gave me, knowing that it wasn’t anything I did to be free.
