The Reward of Moving

This past Saturday, Melissa and I packed up all we owned and moved across town.

After a lot of sweat, a little blood, and maybe a few tears (I was worn out!) :) , we finally managed to get everything settled in.

As I was spending some time reflecting on my day yesterday, I had this thought…..

Moving is sometimes a hassle, but the joy that comes from completing it exceeds the hassle.

Here’s what I mean…

Life happens.
Sometimes good, sometimes tough.

Through it all though, God is moving us to places in order to bless us.

Sure, sometimes the moving process is painful.
Sure, sometimes we’re forced to do some things that aren’t comfortable.
Sure, sometimes we even find ourselves face down asking God to explain why He’s doing what He’s doing.

However, the joy that comes from the movement far exceeds the pain.

There’s no greater feeling than knowing we’re doing what God’s calling us to do.
There’s no greater joy than coming to the next place in our lives and seeing a piece of what God is planning.
There’s no greater fulfillment than moving with God!

There will be no greater joy than when the journey is completed!

So,

no matter what you’re going through,
no matter what you’re facing,
no matter how things may appear,
keep moving with God.

  1. Brother are ya preaching out of Philippians?

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. (13) Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, (14) I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:12-14 NIV

    Good thoughts…really “moved” me today!

“There’s no greater feeling than knowing we’re doing what God’s calling us to do.”

I’m discovering that myself these days. :)

  3. Ok, any time I hear the world moving, I start hearing the old southern gospel song, “Moving Up to Gloryland”

“Moving, moving, moo-oo-ooo-oo-oving, moving up to gloryland.”

Striving to stay with God no matter where he moves.

No doubt that it’s not always the easiest place to be, but there is no greater place to be than the center of His will and movin. I struggled for along time with doing what God was calling me to do because I didn’t feel comfortable, but as soon as God worked over my heart I have been trying to do what He’s called me do and things are sooooooo much better that way.

  5. This reminds me of 1 peter 1:13, the completion of the journey is Jesus Christ being revealed….all things made new, re-creation.

I can set my hope fully on that no matter what struggles come my way. Thanks Jonathan.
