“If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.” – Genesis 4:7
It’s completely possible to do something that isn’t wrong, but it not be right either.
In Genesis 4:7, Cain had given an offering to God, he had done a right act.
But, he didn’t do the right thing.
It’s possible that you or I aren’t really doing anything wrong, but we aren’t doing anything right either.
Maybe we aren’t committing a whopping sin that the person that lives down the street from us is, but we also aren’t doing anything that God’s calling us to do either.
What I believe?
Sometimes God honors our wrong action more than our subtle disobedience.
Ultimately, God desires that I live a life of boldness, reckless obedience, and purpose for Him…
Not a safe life of perfection.
God wants me to be a tool, not a trophy (I wrote more about this here).
I’m trying my best not to be a Cain.
I don’t want to avoid doing something wrong,
I want to do what God says is right.
What are you not doing now that God’s calling you to do?
