The Lord’s hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord. (Acts 11:21)
In Acts 11, the early Church is spreading, new people are finding Jesus, and God is using the persecution that they are beginning to feel to spread His name. In spite of the best efforts of some of the opposition, God continues to use the apostles and the early Christians.
God’s hand was on them even though others were against them.
Do you see that? Do you hear that? Can you feel that? God can be 100% working in your life WHILE you’re facing opposition. In fact, it’s really the rule rather than the exception that when God’s hand is on you, you’ll feel the heat around you.
When you feel the heat, look for the hand of God.
Here’s some encouragement for you. When God’s people are in a trial or fire, God’s hand is ALWAYS with them. It wasn’t just the case for these early apostles, but it was the case throughout the Bible and is the case throughout the course of history. God moves on behalf of his people.
Where’s the heat coming from for you?
Look in the direction of the heat. Is it a relationship? A rumor someone started about you? Financial stresses? Emotional struggle? Lean into the direction of the heat and you’ll find the hand of God.
