4 Things Walking in the Spirit Is Not

2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT) For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline..

1. Walking Scared

God has not called any of us to live a life of fear. Whatever is in front of you that has your paralyzed with fear or whatever you are worrying about… let it go. You can’t walk scared.

2. Being Timid

Live bold. That’s the way Jesus did. He didn’t live a life timid and afraid, he lived a life that was was full of power. People notice a powerful life that represents Jesus. I’m not saying we should be jerks, I’m saying we don’t have to be timid and afraid.

3. Acting Mean

God is love. We should be too. One of the things I notice as I live my life in my context and area of the world is that people are craving love. They want to see love in our lives and displayed in our lives. They want to see love and grace in our lives and through our lives.

4. Living Out of Control

We have the power, through the Spirit, to live lives of self discipline. We have freedom. When we walk in that freedom, we aren’t held back by the same things over and over, we are free from living out of control and on every whim.
