Last week Melissa and I went on our first cruise together.
It was by far the best vacation we’ve had together.
Where’d you take your best vacation?

Ultimately, I have to say the BEST vacation my wife and I went on was in 2007 to the Dominican Republic, on a mission trip. It was by far the best because we served in another country together. Our church marketed it as “Vacation on purpose.”
That trip brought us closer together than any of the other trips we’ve been on.
That’s what it’s all about. Thanks man!
Our family took a vacation to Huatulco, Mexico. We live in Mexico City, and we got an incredible deal to go with our kids to a resort. it was during the height of the Swine Flu (H1N1) outbreak that shut down Mexico for a while, so nobody was traveling to Mexico. We had four private beaches all to ourselves and lots of great Mexican food (which we already get all the time). My kids talk about it all the time.
The food sounds the best! :)
Every time we go to the ocean…it’s the best!
We love the ocean too!

Best vacation we ever had as a family really was not a vacation. We went the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas on a mission trip with our church at the time. We were there to refurbish an old house as a free medical clinic. Worked hard for 6 days but had time everyday to visit various beaches on the island every evening before sunset. Would love to return as a missions worker. Lots of things still to be done for His kingdom there.
I have two places that usually produce the best vacations for me:
Our family property in north woods Wisconsin (on a lake, no less) and really just about any trip to the Czech Republic, even though those trips are mostly mission trips.
PS – glad you two had fun!
Very cool man. We did! A blast.
The best vacation I ever took was to Maine in June 2005. My husband and son, along with my parents and my mom’s best friend, stayed in a house on the water. It was so peaceful, yet we had great times with my mother’s family that lives up there. It was the only time, and probably the last time, that all the kids and their kids were together. We have a great family shot from that trip of all the family. Ultimately, it was the last vacation taken with my mom’s best friend (over 50 years!) because she died of cancer in 2009.
Now, that’s a memory!
Not really a vacation, but I went to Israel for 2 weeks.
Cool Jay.
This is tough. Our honeymoon to St Thomas, in the Virgin Islands, was incredible. We still dream of going back. Our 1B vacation was a trip to Germany and France as part of my MBA program. It was a 2 week trip that, though not technically a “vacataion”, our professor allowed us plenty of free time to explore and enjoy. Can’t wait to go back.
Very cool!
Best yet for me, was our honeymoon a few years ago (other than obvious reasons). We traveled to a Sandals resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica where in was all inclusive. For me, it was a week where there wasn’t any schedules to juggle, no need to be anywhere. It was just the beach without a watch until we got hungry. It was an amazing week to spend with my new bride! Looking forward to going back on a surprise trip in the near future.
LoL. “obvious reason” Got ya!
I’m not picky. Anywhere with my family where I can unplug from the stuff that fills my brain.
With ya!
Antigua…on a catamaran for a week. Ah-mazing.
Great pictures of your cruise!
I haven’t been on many vacations, but I love and enjoy going to the Outer Banks with my family.
Thanks. That sounds like fun!
Yes! Great pics! We had the MOST fun at Disney… day at Universal Studios… got soaking wet on a ride. Got a picture of both of us with the Grinch and Cat in the Hat!
I like Universal over Disney. Just doesn’t have the same flare as Disney though.
We have taken a couple of cruises and they were AWESOME! We love Myrtle Beach, SC and driving through the Smokey Mountains. All of these are the best!
Love MB and the Smoky Mountains. Two of my favorite places!
Awww, you both are so adorable! I’m glad you had a great time!
Our best vacation was summer 2006. Our daughter was in high school with a major attitude, so to make her happy we let her pick where we went that year. She had been to Indianapolis 3 previous times for National Marching Band Competition and wanted to spend more time downtown. So we spent 3 days shopping, eating and sight-seeing in downtown Indy and had a BLAST! Best part, our daughter was happy. :)
Haha. Sounds like fun!
