Since joining the staff of a church a little over a year ago, I have begun to realize the importance of encouragement. As most of you know (if you didn’t you do now), this month is Pastor’s Appreciation Month. This is the month for us to tell our pastors how much we appreciate them and thank them for what they do every day. It’s not easy work! It’s tough and can be very draining! So, give your pastor a gift, write them a note, or give them a restaurant gift certificate, anything to show your appreciation this month. (By the way, if you buy them dinner, you DON’T have to go with them…family time is important)
Today, I wanted to take some time to thank the pastors that have meant a lot to me over my short life and time in ministry:
Michael Joe: Thank you for everything! You have been the single most influential male that is not blood related to me in my life. You have taught me so much through your words and demonstration. From theology to how to treat people and how to lead them, you have taught me a lot. Your work in my life is invaluable! It was completely a God thing when my family met yours 8 years ago!
Mike: Thank you for giving me my first staff position within a local church. You stuck by me and still look out for me from a distance. Thank you!
Benjamin: I’ve only known you and your family for a short time, but can already tell that you are going to lead, back me up, and love Melissa and I. Thank you for your trust, your patience, and your care! I can’t wait to see what the next couple of years hold at Calvary! Thank you!
Take some time to thank your pastor for all they do, not just this month, but every week!
