I’ve always been a person willing to take risks. As a matter of fact, sometimes I’ve been known to take stupid risks without thinking them through. However, I like this fact about myself. I firmly believe that as Christians, we are to be risk takers. That’s what Jesus did.
Risks are not always easy to take. Sometimes our pride takes over and we are afraid of looking stupid while failing. Sometimes, we are too comfortable and don’t want to rock the boat. Sometimes, we just don’t really know what to do to get the whole thing rolling.
Life requires that we take the occasional risk. We have to take risks to ask a girl out on a date. In leadership, we have to be willing to take risks. We have to be willing to move ourselves and others out of our comfort zone and go for it. Sometimes we have to be willing to take risks with our family in order to do what God has called us to do. In everything, risks are important in following God’s call.
What risk do you need to take? What has God been telling you to step out and do but you’ve been too concerned with failing? What step of obedience and faith do you really need to take but haven’t?
