The Fine Line Between #Leading and Manipulating

It’s a fine line, really…

The difference between leading someone and manipulating someone.

Leading = Influencing.

Manipulating = Vile Persuasion.

Ultimately, the line between leading and manipulating is less about the method chosen for performing the action, and more about the heart of the person that’s performing it.

Leading says, “I believe in you.”
Manipulating says, “I believe I can use you.”

Leading says, “Let’s do this together.”
Manipulating says, “Do this for me.”

Leading says, “I want you to want it.”
Manipulating says, “I want to convince you to get it for only my good.”

Be careful….

Are you leading or manipulating?

What’s the difference in your mind?

One Heck of A Typo

iphone typo

I came across this article over the weekend while flipping through Flipboard on my iPad.

It’s from the Huffington Post. Apprarently a middle and high school in Georgia were put on lockdown last week due to a failed auto correct in a text message.

The text message was supposed to read…

gunna be at west hall today

but was corrected to…

gunman be at west hall today

Wow! That’s serious!

Now, I’ve never made that big of a typo/auto correct fail, but I have had a few embarassing moments along the way.

That brings me to my question today…

What’s the worst typo/auto correct fail you’ve ever seen or had happen to you?

In the Moment

LIve in the moment.

Don’t spend so much time trying to get to the next moment that you miss the one you’re in.

Each second has its own sight, sounds, and specialties.
Each moment has opportunities for joy, fun, and divine moments.

Wherever you are, whatever you do, live with Jesus… in the moment.

  • slow down.
  • eat slower.
  • drive slower.
  • be more aware.
  • listen to the sounds around you more.
  • listen to God most.

Be in the moment.

What have you found that helps you be in the moment?
