Ever since Melissa changed jobs last July, we’ve had Fridays off together. Fridays have been kinda deemed by the two of us as our ‘date day.’ That’s the day we spend out shopping, going to movies, eating out, and whatever else we want to do.
We often kinda take turns picking out what we’re gonna do on our Friday date day (although, she’s really good with the ‘it doesn’t matter to me’ thing). For the last few weeks, I had been wanting to go to Chipotle for lunch… it’s just one of those places that I get the craving for at times. Friday morning, Melissa and I woke up and and she woke up just as excited about Chipotle as I was…. it wasn’t even her pick of restaurant, but she was excited about it.
That made me even more excited.
You see, deep down, I want her to like what I like. I want her to want to do what I want to do. When she does, it gets me even more excited about what’s going on.When Melissa gets excited about what I’m excited about, it makes me happy.
Jesus is the same way with us.
I hope and pray that Jesus gets excited because I’m excited about the same things that he is.
Is Jesus Excited because you are?

This past weekend, I was at home doing some random chores that I we all have to do on occasion. As I rushed around from room to room, task to task, I had this thought…
“Why am I in such a hurry? I have about 30 minutes of stuff to do and the rest of the day is absolutely empty. I need to enjoy the moment.”
If you’re anything like me, you always feel like you’re in a hurry,
That you must hurry to finish this task so that you can rush to get to that one.
You feel like your success/failure is based on accomplishing your tasks or calendar appointments for the day.
Let me encourage you,
no matter where you find your self stuck in a to-do world,
Forget the to do list on occasion
Whether you’re a…
Whatever you are, forget the to do list and enjoy the mission.
Remember why you do what you do.
Take time to be in the moment.
Take time just to take time.
Forget the to-do list.
Remember to live.

Some things can’t be understood until they’re seen.
When painting a room, I don’t know what it’ll look like when everything is in it until it’s finished.
Some people can see a room and know what kind of paint and what color of paint will go with a certain kind of furniture before the painting even begins.
Some people will know what it’ll look like, they can see it even if it’s just talked about…
they see it in their mind before it happens in reality.
Some people need to see it…
We must demonstrate if we expect others to understand it.
Jesus understood this.
He knew that some people don’t get it until they see it… He demonstrated.
He demonstrated it to 12 people… To everyone that would follow.
It shook the norms of his time,
It changed the world.
We must demonstrate in order to effectively communicate the love of Jesus.
PS: No, Judas didn’t get ‘it’. Just goes to show, not everyone will, keep demonstrating anyway.
