One of the most important things that can be revealed to a Christian is their individual purpose in life. After finding our purpose, it motivates us and strengthens us to see it accomplished. What often happens, however, is that other things begin to cloud our view of the purpose that God has called us to. Often times, the mess of life hinders us from accomplishing God’s purpose.
I pay attention to detail. That’s just the way I am and I don’t apologize for it.
I have made it! I have successfully completed my undergraduate classes at CSU. I will graduate today with a Bachelors of Arts degree. Looking back on the past 4+ years, I have a lot of memories and even have to admit that I have learned some things. To sum up what I’ve learned, I have to say…
Yesterday, Melissa and I had to go to St. George to apply for our marriage license. Since we were already half way, we decided that we would go to the house for the day to get some things done.
Most of life’s up’s and down’s happen within a moment. When we stop and think, many of life’s biggest changes happen in a moment. In a moment, people can go from thinking that we are relatively smart to thinking we’re complete idiots. In a moment, we can make a dumb financial mistake that we pay for the rest of our lives. In a moment, we can take advantage of an opportunity to help someone out. In a moment, we can obey God and take a step to becoming what He wants us to be. It all happens in a moment.
If someone is living and breathing, junk is going to happen. If we are living, we are going to be hit by one of life’s curve balls. Here are some questions I try to think through when something comes that I wasn’t expecting:
I’m not an old and wise guy. I haven’t had a ton of life experience, but believe it or not, people do ask me for advice quite regularly. One of the things that bugs the heck out of me is when people ask for my advice and choose to do what they wanted to do in the first place.
Intelligence must be accompanied by application. I know a lot of really smart people that know a lot more than I do. I know people that have increased their intelligence through schooling and I also know people that have increased their intelligence through life experiences. However, neither matters without application. Application is what makes intelligence useful.
