Relationships Matter: Why you matter to me

Relationships matter.

It really is that simple.

When we build and grow relationships, we become much more trustworthy, much more dependable, and much more effective.

People matter.

It really is that simple.

They’re the ones that we’re wanting to influence (for more on that, read this post), sell to, or reach out to.

It’s important that no matter our end goal,
we spend time on what matters…

That we’re intentional about developing relationships,
with people.

It’s not just something that happens without becoming a priority first.

No matter what you’re doing…

  • Leading
  • Social networking
  • Ministry
  • Evangelism
  • Discipleship
  • Management
  • Teaching
  • Studying
  • Raising money

Focus on relationships.
Make time for them.
Let your team take time to build them.

It may be messy,
it may not be easy,

But it’s effective.

What things do you do to build relationships?

4 Questions

What’s your favorite season of the year? Summer or Winter?

How often do you make your bed?

Do you read more paper books or digital books?

Pepsi or Coke?

Right or Easy?

Just a reminder…

for you,
for me.

The right thing isn’t always the easy thing.

It can be difficult to do the right thing.
The right thing doesn’t always come easy.

The right thing doesn’t always come off without push back.
The right thing often comes with opposition.

But don’t abandon it.

Don’t sell out on what’s right for what’s easy.

If the right thing was easy, everyone would be doing it and you wouldn’t be setting yourself apart at all.
You wouldn’t be getting the blessing of sticking it out through opposition.

Keep doing what’s right.
Keep doing what God’s told you to do.

Stay true to His call,
to His Word.

You may not see your eternal reward during these temporary obstacles…

Keep doing it anyway!

What right thing are you doing that isn’t easy?

Reshape the World

I don’t know about you, but I’m good at waiting for someone else to do something.

Sitting back, seeing a situation, and thinking, “Gosh! Someone should do something about that.”

I think we all have a little of that in us..
To sit and observe rather than observing and doing.

The problem with that is, of course…
If we’re all waiting on someone else to do something,
then none of us ever will.

  • We’ll see someone hurting and never help.
  • We’ll see someone hungry and never give.
  • We’ll see war and never share peace.
  • We’ll see sin and never share Jesus.
  • We’ll see messy and never clean it up.

We have to start
observing,
dreaming, and
doing.

There’s so much that has to be done…
so lttle time to do it.

So, my challenge to you?
To me?

Stop waiting for someone else to do what you’ve seen the need to be done.

Join in.

Reshape the world around you.

It may take more than one person to change the world, but it’ll take at least one.
Let’s be one!
