Life And Leadership In A Thumbnail

A leadership and life post…

I have 2 year old. He loves watching videos on his iPad mini that was formerly my wife’s. His favorite thing to watch? Random videos on the Youtube Kids app.

He knows too much about technology already.

He knows how to navigate that little thing and get to exactly what he wants. He will even close out the apps and bring back up a different one.

He usually gets caught on one particular channel and watches it over and over for weeks. He’ll select the different videos he wants based on the thumbnail of the video he sees.

So often, what he thinks he wants to watch based on the thumbnail really isn’t that entertaining once he gets into it. Sometimes, I’ll select a video and he pitches a fit because he thinks the thumbnail doesn’t look that promising.

He still hasn’t learned that…

You can’t understand the entire thing based on the thumbnail.

How many of us as leaders, pastors, parents, and people need to learn that same lesson?

The potential around you is greater than the thumbnail you see.
What God wants to do can’t be judged on the thumbnail you see right now.

It’s bigger than that. There’s more to it than that.

God’s plan and will isn’t based on a small little portion of your life and leadership.
The vision God’s calling you to is bigger than the thumbnail you see right now.

You have to press play and keep moving to see the rest.
