Fall At His Feet

And as they went, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they ran to him, grasped his feet, and worshiped him. (‭Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭9‬ NLT)

I love the picture this verse paints in my mind when I see it.

I see the two Mary’s…. dazed and confused about where Jesus would be. Realizing that Jesus was standing just ahead of them, they take off in a dead sprint towards their Savior.

Like a kid running to the Christmas tree on Christmas morning, the ladies couldn’t maintain their run or even get close enough to Jesus to hug him.

All they could do was fall.

They fell at the feet of Jesus because they couldn’t do anything else. Despite how dirty Jesus’ feet would have been on the ancient road. They fell and grabbed his feet in awe.

Sometimes, we need to be so in awe of the Savior that we can’t talk to him, we can’t hug him, all we can do is fall at his feet.

I’m going to take some time to be in awe of my resurrected Savior today.
