Why God Needs You

Ephesians 3:20 (NIV) Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…

Ephesians 3:20 is one of our favorite verses to quote. In fact, it’s one of those verses we love to quote in just about any situation in life… good or bad.

It inspires us to…

  • Believe God can do whatever seems hopeless.
  • Know that God hasn’t forgotten about us.
  • See God’s hand even when it doesn’t seem to be moving.
  • Recover from defeat.

I love Ephesians 3:20. I’ve quoted it to others and to myself many times in all of those situations. The part we usually leave out, though says,

…,according to his power that is at work within us,…

You see, we often forget that God is able to blow our minds with His ability, but He wants to do it THROUGH us.

We can’t just sit around and wait for God to do what He’s giving us power to do in our situation.
We can’t expect God to move when our faith doesn’t allow it.
We can’t wait on God to display His power when we live in defeat.

We need the God that can do it, and He needs the us that is willing to let Him work through us.

We can do so much more than we can ever imagine when we’re walking with Him and in sync with him and his will.

#amen! Praise the Lord; just when i thought, im helpless, hopeless, when my dreams gonna shatter just right in front of my eyes; it is then His words bring life; hope; faith; love back into my lifeless world.

  2. I often forget the part that God wants to do in us and for us, but sometimes we need to do our part, too.

  4. Amen. It’s easy to sit back and think God (or pastors) should do all the work. Thank you for the reminder that God wants to work in and through me.

    1. Absolutely. It’s easy to think, “Leave it to the professionals.”
