Leading While Breathing

Leadership = Influence

The truth is, no matter who you are, where you go, what you do, or who you’re around, you’re influencing (leading) someone.

Whether you realize it or not, your decisions are effecting (or affecting, I get those confused) :-) other people.
Whether you realize it or not, someone is watching you move so they know how to.
Whether you realize it or not, you’re impacting other people.

  • Your family.
  • Your children.
  • Your spouse.
  • Your classmates.
  • Your employees.
  • Other leaders.

Lead well.

Consider others as you lead.
Pursue relationships that can impact you.
Pursue relationships where you can impact others.

Don’t shy away from leading.
Don’t back down.

Lead well.

Who are you leading?
How are you leading?

  1. Your thoughts reflect the idea of being a servant leader. What better model to gain influence than to incorporate a servant attitude, as opposed to seeking that demands be met, being self-seeking, or implying that my words to matter more than my action. One key is to ask, “How can I help you grow and reach your full potential.”

    1. Absolutely. Servant leader is a leader we all need to be. Thanks for the comment and the tweet on this, Chris!

  2. I’m leading a bunch of college students and volunteers, plus two mission trip teams. It’s a lot of leading.

    1. Absolutely. You’re leading more than that too… even if you don’t realize it. Glad you lead well, Jason!
