  1. I love the verse you’ve chosen. I love verses that start with But, or however, even still, or yet. These words always seem to fill me with so much hope. The verse on my heart is John 14:6. “Jesus said, I am the the way and the truth and the life no one comes through the Father except through me.” My son told me the other day that it was his favorite verse…which made my mommy heart happy!

    1. I bet. So cool! Thanks, Eileen!

  2. Not just a verse for me. I’ve been wrecked and enamored by Isaiah 61 recently.

    1. Love it! Here’s a link to Isaiah 61 for everyone – http://jonp.info/q7zo1l

  3. I’m going to give three out:
Hebrews 5:4 – “And no one takes this honor [priesthood] on himself, but he receives it when called by God, just as Aaron was” – spoke tons to me as I’m considering going into ministry

Isaiah 41:10 and Philippians 4:6-7 are very powerful verses too:

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

    1. All great. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Funny you should ask. I just did a post on it today: Mark 4:35-41. :)

    1. love it. Great post, Kaythy!

  5. I’ve been ruined by just a portion of a verse the past few months:

“Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed…” Romans 4:18

Tied with that has been Ephesians 3:20, about how God is able to do immeasurably more than we could ask or imagine.

    1. Wow. That’s really good man. Thanks!

  6. Acts 10:34-35. While we often try to fit others in neat little boxes, God illustrates to us that we should be accepting of everyone like He is…

    1. Great one Michael. Here’s a link to that passage: http://jonp.info/o71JFt

  7. I’ve been marinating in Ezekiel 37 (The Valley of Dry Bones) for a while now. We’re experiencing this same sort of re-birth, revival, re-creation, re-newal in our community lately. It is amazing to have a front row seat, just like Ezekiel had, to what God is doing.

Specifically Eze 37:13-14 – “Then you, my people, will know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves and bring you up from them. I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the LORD have spoken, and I have done it, declares the LORD.’”

and Ezekiel 37:27-28 – “My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people. Then the nations will know that I the LORD make Israel holy, when my sanctuary is among them forever.”

    1. Wow. So cool that you can experience that! Thanks for encouraging us with it too!

  8. My favorite verse is Psalm 121 and it has really spoken to me in recent days and weeks. We have had so much to happen this summer that this is the scripture that has carried me through. My help does come from the Lord!

  9. Philippians 4:8

i’ve been struggling with my thought life lately. our thoughts are SOOO important and when we focus on ungodly negative things, it’s crazy how much it messes up our spiritual lives.

just making sure i’m focusing on godly things and positive things is becoming increasingly important in my walk with Christ!

    This one- Message Bible version-
“So – who is like Me? Who holds a candle to Me?” says The Holy. Look at the night skies: Who do you think made all this? Who marches this army of stars out each night, counts them off, calls each by name – so magnificent! So powerful! And (God) never overlooks a single one? Why would you ever complain or whine saying, ‘God has lost track of me. He doesn’t care what happens to me?”
    Isaiah 40: 25 -27
