Right or Easy?

by

in ,

Just a reminder…

for you,
for me.

The right thing isn’t always the easy thing.

It can be difficult to do the right thing.
The right thing doesn’t always come easy.

The right thing doesn’t always come off without push back.
The right thing often comes with opposition.

But don’t abandon it.

Don’t sell out on what’s right for what’s easy.

If the right thing was easy, everyone would be doing it and you wouldn’t be setting yourself apart at all.
You wouldn’t be getting the blessing of sticking it out through opposition.

Keep doing what’s right.
Keep doing what God’s told you to do.

Stay true to His call,
to His Word.

You may not see your eternal reward during these temporary obstacles…

Keep doing it anyway!

What right thing are you doing that isn’t easy?

  1. I think as a pastor, Jonathan, that staying the course is sometimes the right thing to do but not always the easy. What I mean is when someone “influential” is making life difficult, the easy thing to do would be to flee. The right thing to do, in this case, is to stay and stand up. Good word today.

    1. I think you’re right, Bill. I think this often plays out in a ‘flee or stay’ kind of situation. If it’s right, stick it out. Thanks man!

  2. Loving someone who isn’t easy to love.

    1. O yeah. That’s not easy. Thanks, Amy!

  3. All who live Godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

Doing what is right is an integral component of doing what is right so we should often expect pushback from living with integrity, honor, righteousness, etc.

    1. Great point, Luther. Jesus suffered doing what was right.. He said we would too. Thanks!

  4. I’ve actually found the the right thing rarely is the easy thing. We have to keep pushing to do the right thing morally and the right thing in way of what God created us to do. It won’t be easy, but nothing that’s of value comes easy. Great reminder bro!

    1. Like your last sentence. Nothing that’s of value comes easy. There’s a lotta truth there. Thanks Jason.

  5. You may not see your eternal reward during these temporary obstacles – and this is probably the biggest obstacle ever – when you just don’t see the point in doing what you are doing… even when you know what you’re doing is the right thing to do.

Thanks for encouragement, Jonathan. It’s an awesome message – one day we shall see the results of what we have done.

    1. YES YOU WILL, Zee. Thanks for sharing. Keep doing what you’re doing!

  6. Nice thoughts. I spent many years cutting corners and choosing the “easy” way. But easy left me feeling empty. We might not see them right away…but there are so many blessings that accompany doing things the “right” way.
