How to Take A Faith Step

by

in ,

Luke 22:13 “They went off to the city and found everything just as Jesus had said, and they prepared the Passover meal there.”

There are 2 parts to thIs verse that make it so intriguing.

1. They went off

They had to have a trust in what Jesus said to make this move. No one reading this would go out on a journey that they didn’t believe would pay off. The first part of any step of faith requires a confidence that, because God spoke it, it will be.

Remember Gods past faithfulness in order to trust His future calling.

2. They found

They discovered the trustworthiness of Jesus. Once we have the confidence that God spoke it and we should move, we’ll find things exactly as God said. It amazes me that even when I take a bold step of faith, I often find myself somewhat surprised that it happens the way He said it.

Celebrate his faithfulness.

Trust precedes discovery.

Know the truth.
Step out in trust.
Discover what He does.

What’s your experience been when you’ve stepped out in faith?

  1. Great reminder that faith is a conscious choice we need to make. We step out in obedience and discover over and over that He is faithful. Thanks.

    1. You’re welcome! Have a great week!

  2. It never ceases to amaze me that it is only when we first step out in faith that we see the power of God move mountains. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it happen in reverse.

  3. When I step out, I feel I learn a ton about trust. Something I aim to do more, just scared to most of the time.

    1. agreed man! Let me know if/when you have some down time… :)

  4. “Trust precedes discover”

That’s a good word right there!

  5. I tend to be suprised when things work out the way He said they would as well. I don’t think it’s out of a fear that things won’t turn out, it’s just that when He does move, it’s usually better than I imagined.

This post was an encouragement for me. I already have some faith steps for the coming year. This was a reminder of how to take them. Thanks.

  7. If you can get past that first step, I think the second becomes easier.

I think where I lack is the direction to walk. I know in my heart what God is calling me to, but I don’t know how to get there.
