Keep Em Coming Back

Last week, Melissa and I spent some time out of town.

Relaxing, shopping, and catching a Braves game.

We enjoy seeing the Atlanta Braves in action.
The atmosphere they create is really second to none as far as sporting events.
This atmosphere has people coming to the ballpark day after day, year after year.

Here are 3 things they do well that keeps people (me at least) coming back to the park…

Create Atmosphere.

Everything at the game creates an atmosphere. It’s laid back, fun, and relaxing. They create an atmosphere that allows people to be themselves… To feel like everything there is for them and meant for them.

Create Friends.

The above picture is Drew. Drew was our usher last week. From the second I walked by Drew to get to my seat, he acted like he was my friend. He made it clear that he was there to help ME. He even thanked me for coming and asked me a couple of times if he could help me anyway. Creating relationships is key… no matter the context. Relationships promote loyalty.

Create Product.

I know the Braves haven’t won any titles lately, but they are competitive year after year. This keeps people coming back to the park and following the team. No matter what we’re attempting to get people to come to time and time again, it’s ultimately about the product. What do people think about what you have to offer? Is it excellent?

Whether you’re welcoming guests into your home,
building relationships at work,
hosting a student Bible study in your dorm,
leading a company,
or leading a church,
focus on these 3 principles.

Keep em coming back!

  1. Glad you had a good time in the ATL. Go Braves, of course.

While I would like to the see the stadium full game-after-game, I agree- the atmosphere at The Ted even on “off days” is still pretty good!

  2. Sounds like you guys had a great time!

In the marketing world, we call the principles you described a part of a business’ brand – having everything you do, from marketing pieces to customer service people to your employees that may have little contact with clients/customers working to create the same feel for your company.

It’s critical to the success of any business, but one that most people overlook.

  3. Good thoughts. Last week the family and I went to Disney and I have been drafting a very similar post.
