What to Do When No One Notices

by

in ,

What do you do when you’re doing everything right and no one takes notice?

  • When you’re doing the right thing even though it’s the toughest thing.
  • When you’re working over time at work because you believe in what you’re doing.
  • When you’re parents seem to never notice you’re good behavior.
  • When you love when your spouse doesn’t seem to.

You keep doing it. Keep doing the right thing. Keep doing what you know to do. Keep asking God for strength.

Keep being faithful to the One that does notice.

  1. dude that is an encouraging word today.

I ask myself that sometimes, why isn’t anyone noticing?

The guy that inspires me on this is Joseph and his story in Gen 37.

Though no one noticed he continued to be faithful to God.

    1. Yeah man. The Joseph story is this exact thing. Don’t grow weary of doing good.

        1. Exactly. Thx!

  2. A good reminder, Jonathan!

  3. Thank you for the encouragement to “keep the faith” even when it feels like no one notices or appreciates it.

    1. You’re welcome!

I’ve always found that this is a very humbling place to be. It reminds me of why I do what I do, and also who I do it for. Gaining recognition for ‘good behavior’ and deriving value from that is something I feel a lot of people struggle with, and God uses those times when “no one notices” to remind us that He is the only one that counts :)
    great post!

    1. That is true…and awesome!

  5. Needed this today. Thanks man!

    1. Thanks for reading!

  6. So good. Needed this reminder. Thanks.

    1. Glad it spoke man.

  7. Great post, and so very true. All that really matters is that God notices – and that we are doing what we do for Him, and not others. I have a hard time with this, but I’m working, and praying, on it.

    1. It’s a work in progress.

  8. When we’re faithful to do the right things even when no one notices, it shows that our heart really is to follow God and not the approval of those around us.

    Great post Jonathan!

    1. And that is the most important thing!

    2. Wouldn’t we rather receive our praise from God than men? When we fast don’t be sad, when we give keep the left hand from knowing the right, and go into the secret place to pray and seek God and He will reward

  9. Yep…I’m reminded of Colossians 3:23 when I read this post.

“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.”

  10. Integrity…doing the right thing when no one is around and no one may ever know.

God knows all, sees all, and will judge all..kind of a scary thought if we find ourselves apart from the grace of God found in Christ Jesus
