What They Say About Assuming

This is commercial makes me laugh every time I see it.

I think this also happens to me sometimes…

I think I know something or I assume that someone is a certain way and I totally miss the boat.
Sometimes all I can do is swallow my pride and ask forgiveness. (I don’t usually throw anything)

Just for kicks,

Have you ever looked like a fool because you assumed something and it was wrong?

  1. I find that making assumptions has the biggest impact on my marriage. If I assume my wife will respond a certain way I’m putting her at an automatic disadvantage.

On a related note, Brian Regan has a hilarious bit on mistaking if a lady is pregnant or getting someone’s gender wrong.

    1. Yeah. It’s unfair to assume in marriage. Do you have a link for the Regan bit?

  2. LOL! That was awesome. I don’t watch a lot of TV so I never saw that before.

I’m the type of person that always assumes the worst is gonna happen, especially before some event. I am not a people person and I don’t like socializing (that makes me sound weird, but its true). I prefer quiet and predictable. So anytime we have to go somewhere out of the norm, I always sit and think up all the scenarios to which I will be annoyed and I’m always totally wrong because lets face it, I can’t predict the future. anyway, it drives my husband insane. I’ve had to fight the urge to predict outcomes especially ones that are drastically horrible.

    Love the video…great post.

    1. haha… Thanks Michelle. I think there are a lot of people that aren’t “people” people. You’re not alone. :)

  3. Funny video. I assume all the time, and it usually lands me in the doghouse. :(
