Here’s God’s Will for Your Life
It’s always been an often asked question…
“What’s God’s will for my life?”
In other words, the question is really this..
“What’s God’s specific plan for my life?”
“What am I here for?”
The question is a solid and valid question, but the answers we often come up with are less valid.
People answer this question in many ways,
For some, they say that it’s God’s will for me to marry and have kids.
For some, they say that it’s God’s will for me to speak to thousands.
For some, they say that it’s God’s will for me to be happy.
All of these things may fit into God’s will, but I think there’s more.
Here’s some insight into discovering the real answer to the question…
God’s plan for you will always promote His purpose.
His purpose is people.
His purpose is eternal.
His purpose is healing.
His purpose is hope.
His purpose is love.
Ultimately, ours MUST be too.
How Do You Tell Your Story?
Some people tell great stories.
They have a way of bringing you into their story that makes you feel like you were right beside them when it happened.
Other people tell bad stories.
They either leave out so many details that you wonder why they even chose to tell the story in the first place, or they tell their story with so much detail, you need to pack a lunch to hear the whole thing.
I’m sure that everyone has a great story inside of them, some people (including me) just need to practice telling their story so they’ll get better at it.
How do you tell your story?
More Of ______.
Matthew 15:33 The disciples replied, “Where would we get enough food here in the wilderness for such a huge crowd?”
Instead of looking at what’s in front of you, look at the capabilities of the God that is with you.
You have more than you think.
More than you can manufacture.
You have…
More promise.
More potential.
More resources.
More ability.
More comfort.
More future.
More purpose.
More hope.
More joy.
More love.
More _____.
Than you think you do.
You have more than what you realize.
The disciples sure did.
Matthew 15:37 They all ate as much as they wanted. Afterward, the disciples picked up seven large baskets of leftover food.
What do you need to know that you have more of than you could have imagined? Fill in the blank…
You’re Not Excused
It seems we live in a world that loves to make excuses.
We make excuses for everything.
Instead of taking responsibility for our own actions, we pass the blame off on someone else.
Instead of confessing to a mess up, we make up a reason things went wrong.
WRONG!
We have to take responsibility for our own actions.
Deep down we usually know where and when we messed up.
We have to be honest enough to admit it.
For leaders, (pastors, parents, teachers, anyone leading anyone) we often tend to think that we have to always make the right decisions and pull the right triggers.
The problem, we don’t always.
Maybe, instead of making excuses, we should admit our mistakes.
Think of the results of ‘fessing up…
- The people around us begin to relate to our imperfection.
- We gain respect because of our honesty.
- People are even more willing to follow because they know we’ll take the blame when something fails.
Don’t pass the buck of blame, swallow the truth of your own mistakes.
