Turn the World UPSIDE Down

Acts 17:6 “…These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also,

I came across this passage several days ago and it has literally kept me up at night.

I so desperately want this to be said about me.

By my family.
By the people I work with.
By the church I minister to.
By people I come in contact with.

This can’t be said of someone without living out a life of Jesus.

After all, that’s exactly what Jesus did…He turned the world upside down.
He went against the normal.

Loving the unlovable.
Having unshakable faith in the face of adversity.
Relentlessly pursuing the voice of God.
Obeying Him without hesitation.

Now, I realize the context of this passage.
I know that the early church and Paul dealt with some serious persecution because of their tendency to “turn the world upside down.”

I’m ready…
I’m ready to be bold and reckless with my faith.
I’m ready to trust God to do the impossible.
I’m ready to face the backlash.
I’m ready to get out of my comfort zone.

I’m ready to…

turn the world UPSIDE down.

I hope that you will join me.
Today’s world will never be the same.
Let’s do it in 2011!

Leave your name in the comments if you’ll join me in turning the world upside down for Christ.

Here’s what I want us to do if you’re willing to join me…
Pray for the other names listed as we begin a new year.
Encourage each other whenever possible.

turn the world UPSIDE down.

It is past time that we make a difference in a world that has grown cold. Too many are falling away, Just as had been foretold…now we redeem the time, while there is time left to do so. I am in!!

For many years I’ve thought,”what can I do to change this world in need? I can’t because of this and that and blaa, blaa, blaa…” Some of the excuses were valid, some came out of lack of confidence in, I thought,me( though now I know in God) You know, as I sit here in the Day Care lunchroom I truly believe that the first step must be to allow ourselves to get PASSIONATE. Passion ignites the soul like nothing else can when it is backed by the Spirit. Mate, count me in! Let God arise through the passionate response of men and women, to His calling, and may the enemy be splattered beneath our feet as ww take this first step!

  3. This is a great post, and an important one at that!
I’m currently reading “Under the Overpass” by Mike Yankoski – if you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend it!
It’s been an encouragement, and yet it’s convicted me of where I lack in some areas of my life. It has also challenged me to be more open and loving to people who I might otherwise look over.
There are so many ways in which you could help “turn your world upside down” – may we be able to find more and more new ways to make that possible!
    God Bless,
