Wait. NO!

by

in ,

I very well could be the most impatient person in the world.
I’ve never liked waiting.

No matter what I have going on or how much or little I have to do,
I always tend to be in a hurry.

Lines don’t make me happy.
Traffic makes me mad.
Slow people get me frustrated.

It’s just something I’m not good at…waiting.

It often gets me in trouble though…

I often miss out on what I could have because I’m unwilling to wait.
I’ll buy something that seems really good only to see something better in stores a few weeks later.

I try to make things happen in my timing.
I sometimes miss out on God’s blessing because I’ve jumped the gun.

So…

I’m learning….
Trying to learn.

That the best sometimes comes to those who wait.

What are you waiting on?

  2. I have the same problem I want things to happen now. I am waiting on my blog stats to increase. It is a slow process and all I can do is wait….

    1. Takes time man. Just keep doing what you are doing.

    2. It really does take time. I’m still waiting on mine to grow as well and I’ve been doing this for a while. Good luck bro!

      1. I think we’d all like them to grow. But I look at it like this: if one person is touched…

  3. Seven kids have taught (are teaching) me patience but I am waiting on some news for the beginning of the New Year…trusting for direction as well. It’s amazing that when you wait on Him
there is great peace. Bless ya bro’ and thanks for sharing!

    1. Definitely worth the wait!

  4. Answers and directions.

  5. Once again you make me think of a song..

This is an old one, but a good one.

  6. I’m right there with you man. I’m definitely not a patient person. I get frustrated when the line at the grocery store takes longer than 5 minutes. But…the past two years have taught me to trust in God’s timing. Not always fun, but definitely worth it.

    1. True man. Sometimes waiting on God is much harder than waiting in line! :-)

  7. Okay, I’m pretty impatient sometimes too, but I’m getting better at waiting. I can relate, in fact check out my post “The Art of Waiting” http://bit.ly/97ZDJ3 . Thanks for the post and enjoy the weekend.

    1. Will do. Merry Christmas!

  8. I REALLLY hate it when… oh, hold up, wait a minute dude… my phone is ringing.

  9. Why won’t my picture post? I wish I knew a guy that could tell me… Probably need to be smarter than what you’re working with huh?

    1. I’ll get you hooked up as soon as you remind me to!

  10. I have been one of those who wanted more patience and wanting it to be given NOW! Yet, in the last couple of years, I have gone through some health issues that caused me to learn to take my time and to savor the moments and anticipate what is ahead without fretting that it is not happening soon enough.

  11. This is a hard lesson to learn for *many* people.
Two of the things I struggle with most in this life is “waiting” and finishing what I start.
    Great post, great reminder.

  12. I understand your pain…I am the same way…we have to remember it is all about HIS time and not our time!

  13. Great timing (again) for this post….i am currently waiting to hear from a couple of places i applied to for a summer internship. Not in my hands anymore, but in God’s. I have learned (the hard way mostly) that His timing is perfect. He’s never late or early.
The saying “good things come to those who wait” is very true,.but i would add “and to those who trust in God”
