Thoughts About Dead People

by

in ,

If people are asked when I die what one trait I displayed the most in my life,
I hope they say dependability.

It seems like a lot of us have forgotten the importance of being dependable and holding up our word.

Instead, we’ve exchanged being dependable for being more productive.
We’ve exchanged being true to our word for margin in scheduling.

Maybe I’m an old-fashioned young dude (if that makes sense),
But I believe that dependability still matters.

In fact, I think it’s a natural byproduct of a Spirit filled life.

OK, enough about me.

So,

When you die, what one characteristic do you hope people remember about you?

  2. I hope that people will say that I was a loving person.

I want to be remembered as someone who’s real with people. There are so many fake people today, and I try my best to always just be real. I want to be remembered as someone who genuinely cared about others and was always there for people. And as a girl who when through some things that no person should ever go through, and kept faith in God the whole way through. That’s how I wanna be remembered.

    1. Totally agree. Hoping people see me as being a genuine person as well!. Thanks, Ashley!

  4. When I die, I hope people would say that I was a loving wife and mother and that I raised my boys to love God and other people. I know that they would say that she her boys were her pride and joy. You wanted to know, so I told you! Love you

I hope that others can say this about me. I would like this scripture on my gravestone.

  9. He loved God and He loved people. Period.

BTW…I’m with you on dependability. If I say I’m gonna do it, I’m gonna do it…or knock myself out tryin’.

    1. Perfect. My prayer too!

  10. I struggle to hit the mark all the time, but the one trait I would love to be known for is obedience to God. “He was obedient” makes a great opener for any eulogy. True leadership starts with that kind of submission.

I would like to be remembered for my love of Scripture – and how I helped others love it too. That’s one of my aims, anyway. :)

  12. I want to be known for my love. Not just loving those who loved me, but loving those who didn’t love me and even those who hated me.

    1. Christ – like love.
