No Perfect People

I write on this blog about everyday.
Sometimes, it may seem like I don’t struggle…

Like I don’t face daily temptation,
Like I never have a weak moment,
Like I never fall,
Like I never fail.

To assume that though,
would be a horrible mistake.

I fall,
I fail,
I doubt,
Just like you.

I’m assured of my salvation,
I’m assured that God has an unconditional,
undying love for me.

But,

I waver from time to time.

I have frustrations,
I get mad at life,
I get frustrated with God.

No matter who you look up to,
No matter who you consider a ‘hero’ of the faith,
They struggle.

Don’t think you’re alone.

Don’t think you’ll ever get to the point where everything is perfect,
Nothing  is scary.

It’s not easy.
It wasn’t for Jesus,
It wasn’t for Peter,
It wasn’t for Paul.

It won’t always be easy for us.

But,

The love of God will never leave you,
His presence will never forsake you.

Hold on for the ride.
Don’t get frustrated by life’s occurrences and think there’s something wrong with you.

You’re just like the rest of us…

Fallen people,
In a fallen world,
Saved by a perfect Savior,
Sent by an awesome God!

  5. Thanks for the vulnerability in this post. I’m not perfect either but that’s the direction I’m headed towards. I find that my weakness comes when I get my eyes off the Lord. This verse was on my heart today as I reflected on my own imperfections and asked my self, “What am I looking at?”

“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” 2 Cor. 3:18
