Is ‘Impossible’ An Impossible Possibility?

Impossible

We hear that all kind of things are impossible to accomplish.
When we have something placed in front of us that seems really difficult, we often refer to it as being impossible.

BUT,

Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength.”

SO….

Impossible

A reality?
OR
An excuse?

Do we often use the word “impossible” as an excuse to not bother trying?

I’ll let you take it from there…..

  1. I believe it is an excuse.

I’m 28 and have a 5 year old. As parent there are words that you don’t let your kid say. Most would talk about cussing or things like that.

My list is the following: impossible, can’t, no way.

I tell him all the time that he can do anything, if it is through Christ.

    1. Amen brotha! Thanks!

  2. Impossible is an opportunity for the power of God to be displayed.

    1. LOVE IT! Thanks for reading & sharing!

  5. Walt Disney – “It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.”

I think it’s a huge excuse, one I find on my own lips all too often. Then I remember that we were told we would NEVER have kids…we have seven.

The last word is always God’s. Thanks for posting this bro’

    1. I agree. I think that the only reason anything would be impossible for us is because God has led us somewhere else. He often chooses to steer us around what’s easy and to what the world would call ‘impossible’. Thanks for sharing Jay!

  6. “impossible” can also be used to snuff out someone else’s dream. We fuel their doubt by throwing it in someone’s face who would otherwise be sold out for God. I’ve had that happen to me.

    Great post, thanks!

    1. Good point. A different angle than anyone else has had. Good stuff. Thanks Ryan!

  7. I’m suddenly reminded of the song “What Faith Can Do” by Kutless… it’s a good one, if you haven’t heard it, I’d recommend it. :-) One of my favorite songs to play on the guitar and sing cuz it’s such a great reminder. :-)
