Touching or Weird?

I don’t know how many of you caught this game last weekend.

Towards the end of the game, one of West Virginia’s greatest players of all time went down with an injury.
His head coach went onto the floor to console him.

I’ve heard a few people talk about how awkward of a moment it was, and I’ve heard some talk about how touching of a moment it was.

Watch and then decide…

Touching or Weird?

I found it touching. That young man was in a lot of pain, probably had a lot of disappointment (as WV ended up losing that game) and needed support from his coach. Kudos to the coach for being there with his player in the midst of that situation.

    1. Yeah, I saw an interview earlier from the kid. He said Huggins (his coach) was trying to settle him down. He said the coach kept telling him how much he had meant to him during his time at the school. Thanks for sharing Carrie!

  2. I think it showed there was a familiarity and history between them. It seemed to me he was trying to get him to focus on something other than a pain, similar to how I am with my children, so I found it touching. Without the relationship it would seem awkward but to me it seemed fitting and very touching, as it demonstrated the concern and care a coach has for his players.

    1. Great point. Thanks for reading and commenting!
