4 Words Every Leader Needs to Hear

“I’ve got your back.”

Leading isn’t an easy job.
At times, it can seem as if you’re on an island.
Regardless of the number of supportive people you have around you, sometimes the loneliness outweighs the support.
If you’re leading effectively, often it comes with some opposition.
Opposition magnifies the loneliness.
When tough decisions are having to be made, leaders are often left with a decision to keep a few happy, or please the One that called them.
Every leader needs to know that someone has their back.
Every leader needs to know that some people, regardless of the situation, are going to support them.
Every leader needs to know that when unpopular decisions are made, some won’t abandon their support.
So, who’s back do you have?
Have you told them?

3 Words Every Leader Needs to Say

“You are appreciated.”

Sometimes leaders fail at making people feel appreciated.
Sometimes the pace of leadership causes a leader to forget about the people that really make things happen.
If you’ve ever supported a church or organization, you know what it’s like to give and never receive any reward.
  • You work tirelessly, but never get told, “Thank you.”
  • You take vacation days to volunteer but never feel valued.
  • You put in overtime without being paid, but feel like no one notices.
  • You believe that your reward is awaiting you in heaven, but you could really use some encouragement now.
You need to be told thank you.
You need to feel valued.
You need to feel appreciated.
No matter what you lead, be sure to thank those that really make things happen.
You couldn’t do it without them.

Having Sext

States across the country are revising their child pornography laws to adjust the punishments for what has become known as “sexting” — distributing sexual images via cell phone.

Many states have relaxed the charge, previously considered a felony, for minors because minors are making up an increasing percentage of the people charged with sexting. In many states, it is now considered a misdemeanor for minors.

news.yahoo.com

This is a huge problem among teens today.

As little as five years ago, this wasn’t even an issue.
Today, thousands of teens are doing this.
What’s worse, their parents usually have no idea.
When I read that a lot of states are relaxing the charge because the majority of offenders are minors, I had to wonder if they’re looking for a solution, or less work.
Are they looking to put a stop to it, or to control judicial costs?
Am I missing something here?
Should states really be relaxing the charge for something simply because of the ages of the people doing it?
OR
Should states be finding more suitable punishments for those that are convicted?
Your thoughts?

Don’t Be Anxious

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God, and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7

I read theses verses a little while ago. Here’s what struck me…

The command given in the first few words is made possible by the following commands.

In other words, we’re told to not be anxious, and then we’re told how to make that a practice in our every day lives.

We pray, God gives the peace, and we stay obedient to the command to not be anxious.

God not only commands, He equips also.

Whatever is on your mind right now,
Don’t be anxious, be in prayer!
