Service Before Observance

Matthew 12:9-10 “Then he went over to the synagogue where he noticed a man with a deformed hand. The Pharisees asked Jesus, ‘Is it legal to work by healing on the Sabbath day?’”

Never let observance deter you from service.

That is essentially what Jesus was doing in this passage.
While the Pharisees were worried about observing a day, Jesus was concerned with serving a man.
We do it all the time.
We allow our observance of traditions and customs to take the place of our service for God.
We ignore serving the lost by serving each other.
We ignore sharing the Gospel by retreating to our cliques.
The truth is…
The Christ we claim chose to serve rather than observe.
Who are you serving?
Is your observing more of a focus than your serving?
