Purpose Driven Tasks

I think it’s something we all do…live for tasks rather than purpose.

We all fall into getting everything done, checking off a to-do list, living life, meanwhile, we forgetting about our real purpose.
Truth is, those tasks can be related to the purpose, but when they become only tasks, we lose our passion for that purpose. Here are some steps that I’ve recently begun to take to remember my purpose:
  • Each task that I begin, I think about how it’s helping me fulfill my greater purpose.
  • Pray for tasks. I ask God to use the task for His glory. If you don’t know why you’re doing what you’re doing, you probably don’t have your purpose in mind.
  • Make time to spend with God. If He’s not your first priority, your purpose certainly won’t be fulfilled. You can’t do it on your own.
The fact that God has a purpose for all of us is simply amazing to imagine. When we look at the people that God uses, they don’t all fit into a box of “success.” When we look at the people God uses, they only have one thing in common…they worked for a purpose.
