Just God Being God

Hebrews 12:18-19, 22 “You have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire.  You have not come to darnkness, sadness, and storms.  You have not come to the noise of a trumptet or to the sound of a voice like the one the people of Israel heard and begged not to hear another word…But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem.  You have come to thousands of angels gathered together with joy” (NCV).

So often, I settle for far less than what I have at my disposal, far less than what I was created for.  I settle for trying to follow a set of rules, although I was meant to live in freedom.  I settle for a tiny and meaningless life, when I have exciting and fulfilling life at my fingertips.  I settle for a depression and limited power supply, when I have the joy and power of God at my disposal.  I settle for the things of this world, when I could have the very blessings of God.  I settle for a life of dispair, rather than a life that is meant for true living and excitement.  I settle for my man-made life, when I could have a life called and directed by the Creator Himself!

Many times, I rob myself of the blessings that God has for me.  I rob myself and wonder where God is in the midst of it.  The truth is that God is right there with me, it’s me that keeps running off to complete the next task or chase the next thing that appears to be fulfilling.  I have to stop, allow God to lead, and follow His call and His direction.  I have to quit living in the power of Jonathan, and begin living in the power of God! I have to start listing my priorities with God at the top.  I have to start surrendering to and obeying Him.  I have to fall more in love with God and let God be God!
